Dmitry Kryachkov

Heads the English Language Department of the School of International Relations at MGIMO University of the Foreign Ministry of Russia. He has a Ph.D. in Linguistics and has been teaching at MGIMO since 2002 with a short break between 2007 and 2009 when he was assigned as a translator and interpreter to the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations in New York. He combines teaching and research with working as a translator and conference interpreter. His current interests include teaching translation/interpretation and training interpreters, course design and materials development for General English and ESP, blended learning, and lexicology. He has authored several textbooks for students of international relations as well as a number of papers on various aspects of teaching and linguistics. Mr. Kryachkov is Academic Director of the Master’s Degree Programme “Training Translators and Interpreters for International Organizations”. He is a member of the Union of Translators of Russia. He is also on the Editorial Board of Lege Artis. Language yesterday, today, tomorrow, a peer-reviewed journal of the University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, published by De Gruyter.
