Ekaterina Pokholkova

Ph.D., associate professor of Oriental Languages Department, since 2017 — Dean of the Translation and Interpreting Faculty of Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), former head of the Russian Association of the Korean Language Professors and Central and East European Society of Koreanology. Her research covers philology, specifically lexicology, language and discourse, theory and practice of translation. Also a translator of modern Korean literature (prose by Yang Gwi-ja, Sung Suk-je, Gong Ji-young, Kang Byung-yung and poetry by Moon Chung-hee). She graduated from MSLU in 2000 majoring in translation, interpreting and intercultural communication in Korean and English languages. Since then she has taught Korean language, translation and interpreting in Korean and Russian, was in charge of various projects with the Korea Foundation, Literature Translation Institute Korea, Academy of Korean Studies.
