French national. He was trained as a lawyer in Paris, specialised in European and international law.
He started his career at the European Commission in 1988 where he worked mainly within the Secretariat-General and also in external relations departments.
He joined the Directorate-General for Interpretation (DG SCIC) in 2017 and is currently head of the unit responsible for inter-institutional relations and international cooperation.
His unit is managing inter alia the cooperation with Russian universities in the field of interpreters training, in particular the St. Petersburg School of Interpretation and Translation (SCIT) at Herzen University. DG SCIC has been cooperating with SCIT since 2008 and provides technical advice and pedagogical assistance to the School.
