graduated from the Karelian State Pedagogical University in 1998. She has been working at the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1999. In 2006, she completed her Ph.D. at the Academy’s Karelian Research Centre, on the ethnic literatures of the Russian Federation. A Candidate of Sciences (PhD) in Philology, she is a member of the Literature Studies Section, specializing in the Balto-Finnic literatures of Karelia.
